FRPilot has been active for around 15 years now. When it started the airline was opening 5-15 bases a year. Fellow pilots were moving between bases weekly, and the need to share information had never been greater. Setting up the website in its original format was relatively easy, just required time. After that it was good to go and the yearly cost was negligible.

I moved on from the Blue & Yellow around 8 years ago now. At the same time motivation dwindled, as you can imagine. During these 8 years, prices have increased, and technology has moved on. Keeping on top of the website has long become an impossible task of learning, re-learning, and effectively having to invest more and more time and money that simply there is no return for <- Even changing the home page for this notice has taken about 20 minutes relearning before actually typing anything. I hoped to move the website away from the current layout to a more modern solution, the cost to get the data out was estimated at £12,000.

I plan to leave the website alive until end of September where I will be shutting it down. It is a shame to loose all the great information people have passed on.
